Anther and Filament of Stamen

This picture shows the anther and filament of stamen in this flower. The filament is the thin stalk leading up to the anther. The anther contains microsporangia that form sacs inside the anther and eventually produce pollen spores. Pollen is released by openings in the anther for pollinaters to pick up and spread.
