Organisms in different kingdoms: Plantae

The kingdom plantae includes living organisms such as ferns, mosses, angiosperms (flowering plants) and gymnosperms such as conifers. These organisms obtain their energy by photosynthesis which uses sunlight to convert the rays into energy using the plants chloroplast. There are approximately 300 thousand species of organisms in the kingdom plantae. These organisms like those in the Animalia kingdom can reproduce by sexual reproduction, but many plants can also multiply their population by asexual reproduction. A major characteristic that separates the kindgom plantae and animalia is on a molecular level, organisms in the plantae phyla have cells with a thick semi permeable wall. The image shown is an angiosperm in the kingdom plantae and it has all of its characteristics that apply to the kingdom plantae.
