Pollen is a scientific term that is well known. It is the genosperm of a flower or plant. They are well known to cause allergies. Pollen has a hard coat that protects the male gamete inside the plant. It is found on the pistil of the flower. It also needs to be transported (usually by a bee or bird) to another plant for any sexual reproduction to take place. When pollen lands on a compatible female counterpart the sperm cell inside the pollen will move to the ovary of the plant and the germination will take place.
