Disaccharides are carbohydrates made when two monosaccharides condense and eliminate a small functional group molecule, such as water. Reducing disacharides and non-reducing disaccharides are the two types of disaccharides. common disaccharides include sucrose, lactulose, lactose, maltose, trehalose, and cellobiose.
