Types of Carbohydrates: Oligosaccharides

Oligosaccharides are composed of two to twelve monosaccharides and have many cellular functions such as cell recognition and functions in the plasma membrane of cells. Usually oligosaccharides are found connected to amino acids and are abundant in different plants, such as this onion.
