Unicellular organisms

Unicellular organisms

Have you ever heard of the experiment where a kid swabs a bunch of his household materials and discovers how many unicellular organisms are on each item. It seems that a toilet always make it in the top 5 for most unicellular organisms. After this most people usually freak out and are disgusted, but really there is nothing to be disgusted of. There a re unicellular organisms everywhere including in and on you. A unicellular organism is a single cell that lives on it’s own. Their are essentially three types of unicellular organisms. The bacteria are prokaryotic. Prokaryotic means that there is no nuclear membrane that makes a true nucleus. Fungi are the second type. They are exactly like multicellular fungi, except for the fact that they are only made up of one cell. The third type is protists. These are different because they have all characteristics of every other kingdom. Some protists are multicellular and live in colonies. Some protists have chloroplasts and eat anyways.
