Eukaryote: Beetle

Organisms are put into two groups, eukaryote or prokaryote, depending on the structure of their cells. The beetle in the photo is known as a eukaryote. Eukaryotes contain cells that have a membrane bound nucleus and membrane bound organelles. A single celled bacteria or a multicellular organism can all be considered eukaryotes. The genetic material of a eukaryotic organism is found in the nucleus. Some fungi and bacteria, as well as most plants and ALL animals are eukaryotic.
