Pollen

Pollen

Flowers give off pollen. Pollen contains the microgametophytes of seed plants which produce the male gametes. Pollen grains have a hard coat to protect the sperm inside. The pollen is carried by a pollinator or by wind to another flower where the male gamete would meet with the female gamete (egg) and a new baby plant would be formed.
