Cambium

Vascular cambium is a portion of a plants anatomy that works with the xylem in the transportation of water. Cambium usually is made up of two types of cells ray initials and fusiform initials. These two cells work with the other portions of the plant to transport water and vital nutrients through the plant organism. The vascular cambium can be seen in wood, it is the very significant line that divides up the wood into sectors. Cambium is a type of meristem which means that its still has embryonic cells which will later mature and further aid the plant organism. It is also the source of the secondary xylem and works heavily with the primary xylem in all its functions.
