In chapter 7 I learned that children may inherit traits due to environmental effects acting on both of the parents. These traits are inherited without the change in DNA. If a mother has eating habits that are poor to her health and her babies during pregnancy this could lead to childhood obesity. In chapter 8 I learned about the “aquatic ape theory” proposed by Elaine Morgan. She believes that we humans have descended from these aquatic apes that lived in Ethiopia, mainly in water. Morgan applies many points that argue that we descend from aquatic apes, like our body fat and hairless streamlined body. This book was an interesting read, and not as difficult as first assumed.
