Survivial of the Sickest Part 4 (Chapters 5-8)

This book has been really informative and intriguing. I really enjoyed reading it and I learned a lot. I learned about how diseases evolve with us and how we can make bacteria less harmful to us, in diseases such as malaria and cholera. Genes are constantly modified and changed over times by mutations, not all of which are bad. Viruses have helped create the majority of our DNA that is not actively used. Genes can be turned on or off by methylation. Genes program our aging when the telomeres on our chromosomes run out. Humans might have evolved to walk on two feet if we descended from a semiaquatic environment. This book taught me a lot about evolution and how everything in the world is connected.
