Ectotherm (reptile-picture will not upload)

An ectotherm is an animal that is dependent on external sources of body heat, in other words, a cold-blooded animal. These animals do not use their metabolism to generate body heat. However, non-bird reptiles do have ways of regulating their body temperature, such as basking in the sun or finding shade.
