Genetically Modified Organism (seedless grapes-picture will not upload)

A genetically modified organism (aka GM or GMO) is one that has acquired one or more genes by artificial means rather than by traditional breeding methods. Researches make GM plants by manipulating the DNA of a single somatic cell and then growing a plant with a new trait from the engineered cell. In commercial use are a number of crop plants carrying new genes for desirable traits, such as seedless grapes.
