K-strategist is something that categorizes a group. K-strategist have a growth pattern of a long juvenile pattern with a population that grows exponentially and stabilizes when it reaches the max value. The population size is smaller but stable. The reproductive strategy is mate choice and pair bonding. All of these things vary much from the R-strategist, which are the opposite of this. An example of K-strategist are humans and elephants and example of R-strategist is mosquitos and mice. K-strategist have the characteristics of being very dependent on the parents for a large period of times, such as humans. They can be seen as the exact opposite of R-strategist.
