C4 Plant

Before entering the Calvin cycle, CO2 is fixed to a 4-carbon compound in a C4 plant such as corn. C4 plants can be found in hot and dry places. In these plants mesophyll is undifferentiated and the Kranz anatomy (the arrangement of bundle sheath cells) is present.
