Epithelial tissue

Epithelial tissue is the outermost layer of tissue an organism has. It covers the entire surface of its body and protects it from harmful chemical agents such as the sun’s rays, prevents bacteria from entering, and even helps the organism maintain its water. Epithelial cells are also very tightly packed and there exist two types: stratified or simple. Skin is an example.
