The Hot Zone: Part 1

So far, this book has been very thought provoking for me. It made me wonder just how many times the human species has had a close call with potential extinction. The book is also not necessarily challenging to read because it holds the readers interest. The author gives an entire background to most of the characters, leaving me legitimately sad for the ones who died. I actually felt relief when Nancy ended up not dying because I was sure she was going to get infected when she found the cut on the wrist of her space suit. I am very curious about how the Marburg virus hides and just how it infected Charles Monet and Peter Cardinal from inside Kitum cave, and whether or not it will pose a problem later in the book.
