This part of the book was exciting and intense. Yet, to me it also felt generally bitter because the majority of this part was about the process of killing over 400 monkeys. My heart especially sank for the one monkey who escaped the cage and ran around escaping the net of the humans. It was also exciting to eventually realize that the virus that they were dealing with turned out to be a whole new discovery called the Reston Virus, a sister to Ebola Zaire. I was sure that when one of the workers start vomiting on the lawn of the building that there was a serious issue for humans arising, but it ended up not being harmful to humans. I also find it most interesting that after all the research put into the Reston Virus, still nobody knows how it started, and how it got from Africa to the Philippines.
