Ectotherm(2)

Ectotherms, such as the frog pictured above, are unable to regulate their own body heat and must obtain heat from an exterior source, such as the sun. However, since they do not need the extra energy to heat themselves, ectotherms generally have a lower rate of cellular respiration.
