Genetically Modified Organism

A genetically modified organism is an organism whose genetic material has been changed by using recombinant DNA technology, where parts of different species’ genomes are combined to make a new set of genes. All kinds of different organisms are modified for different purposes, but the most controversial and common is the modification of plants used for food. Plants are often modified to have ideal genes, to fight certain diseases, microorganisms, or even just to look more delicious than other plants. People are worried about the long-term effect of these modified organisms on the human body.
