Epithelial Tissue – Chicken Skin

Epithelial Tissue - Chicken Skin

The skin on this chicken is an example of epithelial tissue. Epithelial tissue is one of the four types of animal tissue. It covers the entire surface of the animal’s body. It is a membranous type of tissue that is composed of one or more layers of cells. It not only covers the exterior of the body, but also the internal organs. The layers of cells in epithelial tissue are separated by little intracellular fluid.
