Pollen

Pollen is the male gametophyte of flowers. Pollen fertilizes the egg parts of flowers and pollen is transferred by either wind or animals. Some flowering plants, also called angiosperms, attract animals, like bees, to pollinate the flower, or spread the pollen to other near by flowers of the same species, by producing nice smells or having petals with vibrant colors. As seen in this picture, the bright pink flower petals surround the yellow pollen in the center.
