They assist in the pollination of flowers, pollinators assist in approximately 80% of the production of flowering plants, the other 20% is usually wind borne or by the environment. Pollinators form a relationship with flowers, pollinators are benefitted by the flowers sweet nectar. In exchange when the pollinator gets nectar from the flower, the flower is benefitted because its sticky pollen attaches to the pollinator and transferred to another flower. Pollinators are attracted by a flowers sweet smell or bright colors. A typical example of a pollinator is a bee, bees go from flower to flower getting nectar and at the same time transferring pollen.
